ICIPE customized training

By June 4, 2018 No Comments

Strathmore Energy Research Center (SERC) conducted a specialized training for five staff from International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) on solar PV systems that are hybrid and connected to the grid. The training was key for ICIPE to ensure that internal capacity is built within their staff as they have several greening projects including an installation of roof top grid connected on hybrid solar PV system with a total capacity of 1,156.1kWp.

Prior to the training, SERC and the ICIPE team coordinated all the preparatory activities to make the training a success. SERC provided both soft and hard copy reading and reference documents a week to the training. ICIPE facilitated a site visit at both Duduville Kasarani and Mbita systems. The assessment and selection of participants for the training was also carried out by ICIPE. There was unlimited access to the installed power system, and this facilitated hands-on sessions where the participants were able to investigate and verify the system configuration.
