The training was part of the PEER initiative to build institutional capacity of local and technical training institutes by integrating solar PV courses in their training programs. The aim of the marketing course was to enable the institutions to come up with marketing and business strategy for the solar PV courses, equip them with the knowledge on how to integrate and sustainably manage the solar PV courses and assist the institutes to come up with a sustainable business model.
The participants got practical lessons on how to differentiate themselves from their competitors, identify their customers and their target niche. In addition, topics on empowerment were covered. These included: risk taking, decision making, goal setting, strategic thinking, and customer service. The workshop came to an end in a colorful ceremony, where the participants were issued with certificates of participation.
